Gadloch Angling Club
Club FAQ
Q: How much does it cost to join the club?
A: Please see our fees here.

Q: Can I fish from the bank?
A: Yes! There is a long stretch of bank that is maintained by the club members to ensure easy fishing and provide a clear back cast area. Other areas are also available.

Q. Do I need waders?
A. Although not essential, waders are recommended to help cast to the deeper water and the bigger fish. Many club members use chest waders when fishing from the shore.

Q: Can I fish from a boat?
A: Yes! The club has both private members boats and club boats that can be used at scheduled times throughout the day. Life jackets must be worn.

Q: Do you provide fly fishing casting lessons?
A: Periodic casting lessons are provided by club members. Many fly fishers have successfully mastered the art at the club. Well they've managed to cast and catch fish at least :).

Q: What tackle do I need to start fly fishing?
A: Glasgow Angling Centre, JB Angling Centre and other local fishing tackle shops are great places to get advice and buy the gear you need. In short you need: a fly rod (e.g. 9ft 6in, weight 7), Reel, line (floating line recommended), leader line, flies, a landing net and, to help cast to the fish, waders are a good option. Fly fishing starter kits are a great and cost effective way to get started.

Q: Is there parking?
A: Yes. There is parking for shore fishing next to the loch just off the road to Lenzie and the loch is easy walking distance from Lenzie itself. There is also a dedicated car park for accessing the fishing boats. Details are provided when joining.

Q: How do I catch more fish?
A: Check the club WhatsApp group for hints and tips and fish more!
